There is no denying, the trend today is 3D videos and photography. Sony understands that it is all about 3D cinematography with its latest CineAlta. The Sony CineAlta F65 is a gigantic 3D camera with impressive features. The Sony CineAlta F65 packs a 20.4 megapixel, Super 35mm CMOS sensor. It’s a great upgrade from the F35 3D camcorder with 12.4 megapixel 1080 CCD sensor.

Sony also upped the features of the CineAlta F65 with a new chip. Unline the previous Bayer BG-GR subpixel matrix on convential 4K sensors, the F65 has green pixels that form the 4K grid while an RB-BR matrix fills in the space, making the number of pixels from 8k to a 4k picture.
The new Sony CineAlta F65 has fast sensor and captures anywhere from 72fps on 4k and speeds up to an impressive 120 fps on 2k. This camcorder has ba 16-bit RAW output (19Gbps) at 4k resolution. It can also go 5Gbps for the convenience of recording in th new SR-R4 portable 4K recorder.

Here’s what Sony had to say about their 3D camcorder.

Of course, Sony isn’t going to just ignore the 3D scene here. Also announced at NAB is the PMW-TD300, which will be the first professional 3D camcorder sporting a shoulder mount. Featuring a pair of Exmor 3CMOS sensors, hardcore cameramen will finally be able to go mobile with this new toy while filming 3D in 1080p. Not sure how the videos will turn out, though — we’re not keen on the idea of watching shaky and potentially nauseating 3D captured by someone running along the sideline. Anyhow, this camera will be up for grabs in Autumn this year.
