Leica users now have a reason for getting a Ricoh GXR camera system. The reason would be news of the Leica M-mount module which is pegged for a September 9 release.
If you have a collection of Leica lenses then having a Ricoh GXR system and being able to use your expensive collection is a compelling reason to get the camera system.
Ricoh’s Leica M-mount module will have a 12.3 megapixel APS-C sensor and has a 27.8mm Leica M bayonet mount.
The Leica M-mount module supports RAW image capture and 720p video.
There is no pricing announced but we’re keen to know how much the whole thing costs. There however is a preview price from www.bhphotovideo.com which pegs it at $649.00.
The Ricoh GXR camera system is quite an interesting and new interchangeable system. For those who are still unfamiliar, the Ricoh GXR is the company’s take on swapping lenses. However, instead of lenses you swap modules which have both the sensor and lens.
If we’ve sparked your interest in the Ricoh GXR, you can checkout the list of modules at Amazon.
