Panasonic released an impressive 24x optical super zoom compact camera, the Lumix DMC-FZ40 (known in Europe as FZ45). Similar to its predecessor, the FZ38/35 it has the same Leica DC Vario-Elmarit 25 – 600mm (35mm equiv.) lens is the same as well. The difference is in the FZ40′s upgraded 14.1 megapixel CCD sensor.
The Lumix FZ40 also offers AVCHD Lite 720 HD movie.
Other features offered by the latest Panasonic point and shoot camera is the Sonic Speed auto focus system.
The Lumix FZ40 will be available this August for a US$400 price tag.
