Olympus unleashed three new digicams in the ever growing pocket camera market.
The latest Olympus point and shoot cameras are the Olympus mju-7050; FE-5050 and FE-4050.
The Olympus mju-7050 digicam’s main feature is 14-megapixel sensor and a 7x optical zoom. It has wide angle lens equivalent to 28mm. The camera comes with a 2GB internal memory and has a 3 inch LCD monitor. This Olympus camera has a ‘Magic Movie’ effect where filters and effect can be applied on videos.
The Olympus FE-5050 is a point and shoot camera has 14 megapixel sensor with a 5x zoom lens. It boasts an ultra-wide angle lens equivalent to 26mm. The body for the FE-5050 is slim and is made of quality metal body.
The Olympus FE-4050 is a 12 megapixel camera with a 4x optical zoom. It’s the most basic point and shoot camera released by Olympus.
The common feature of all three camera is Olympus magic filters. According to Olympus press release the expand to following: 6 Magic Filters, Pop, Pin Hole, Fisheye and Drawing inherited from the previous model, and newly added Punk and Soft Focus.

Enhances colors, making them more vivid and bright to create high-impact images.
Pin Hole
Creates images with a retro feel, reducing brightness at the periphery.
Fisheye
Makes a photo mysterious feel with the effect of shooting with a fisheye lens.
Drawing
Transforms your photos into an intriguing line drawing.
Soft Focus
Creates a surreal, dreamy, romantic atmosphere such as a wedding scene.
Punk
Makes photos like a block print in pink and black.

Did its job...and survived!
I wanted a digital waterproof camera for a white water rafting trip. I chose this one because it seemed the best value out there ( I did NOT want to buy a $300 camera to play underwater). On the trip, I fell out of my raft (oops!) and down 40ft. of rocky raging water waterfall... and the camera still worked!!!!! I was absolutely amazed! I admit, it does not take as nice of pictures as my canon or sony, and it IS slow to start up/in between shots...but on a scenic Wisconsin river in the middle of the day, it did exactly what I bought it for.
