General Imaging announced 9 new cameras to be released throughout 2010. The California company (General Imaging is the world exclusive licensee for GE branded digital cameras), is known for offering budget cameras that are excellent for its value. A standard feature in all the GE 2010 cameras have Pan-Capture Panorama for seamless, wide-angle shots and Auto Scene Detection for sharp, vibrant pictures in virtually any setting.
1. GE Active Series – GE G5WP2
GE underwater camera lives in a sturdy metal design with 12.2 megapixel and 4x internal zoom lens. The camera takes underwater videos too. The GE G5WP will be available in graphite gray, raspberry red and ocean blue in late Q2 for a SRP of $179.99.
2. GE Power Pro Series – GE X5
The GE introduces the X5, the latest in its Power Pro Series. Ge boasts of the camera having intuitive high-tech features all captured in a professional, easy to use design. Optical image stabilization and a powerful 15X zoom put you closer to the action to take photos like a pro. The X5 also touts ISO 3200 and a 28mm lens. The X5 will be available in Q2 for a SRP of $149.99.
3 and 4. GE Power Series – E1486TW and E1480W
The E1486TW and E1480W are affordable cameras, its selling retail prices for cameras are at US$179.99 and 149.99 respectively. GE said the newest Power Series are loaded with high‐definition movies, Optical Image Stabilization to insure great pictures, 14‐megapixels of resolution for incredible clarity, and a large 3‐inch LCD screen. The cameras also offer an amazing 8X optical zoom which is a good deal considering its price range. Both are available in black, red and silver and will be released next quarter.
5. GE Smart Series – GE J1455
The J1455 camera has 14.2 megapixels of resolution and 5X optical zoom lens, along with image stabilization for high quality and vivid images at the tip of your finger. It sells for US$129.99 and will be available around April 2010.
6 and 7. GE Smart Series – C1033 and C1233
The selling point for this camera is the price ~ US$59.99 (for the GE C1233) and US$69.99 (for the GE C1033) ! Budget-friendly equipped with the same technology such as electronic image stabilization, face detection and red-eye removal. The C1233 will be available in April and the C1033 in August.
8 and 9. GE Smart Series – GE A1255 and A1455
For the everyday photographer both the GE A1255 and A1455 offer 5X optical zoom and a 2.7-inch LCD screen. The GE A1255 is a robust camera that features 12 megapixels of resolution, for a SRP of $89.99 while the GE A1455 offers 14 megapixels of resolution for crystal clear enlargements at a $99.99. Both cameras will out this spring, and are available in a in black, silver and red.
