Fuji releases Finepix Z800EXR

Fujifilm released a ‘premium ultra-compact’ digicam; the FinePix Z800EXR. It’s a second generation Fuji camera that incorporated the EXR CCD sensor.

Fuji boasts of the EXR sensor technology that offers “higher resolution than its predecessor whilst still offering class-leading dynamic range and low noise/high sensitivity options. Designed to emulate the human eye, the unique design of the EXR sensor enables the user to switch the behaviour of the sensor according to the scene to the photographed.

When the light is strong and even, the camera can be switched to HR (High Resolution) mode to ensure every small detail is recorded. When light is strong but contrasty, the sensor can switch to DR (Wide Dynamic Range) mode to get the optimal balance between highlight and shadows.

Lastly, in low-light, the sensor will switch to SN (High Sensitivity and Low Noise) mode, to ensure you achieve clean, noise-free, pictures even in dark shooting conditions.

EXR technology was developed by Fujifilm to maximize image quality in cameras where larger sensors simply cannot be used, making it perfect for long-zoom compacts, delivering extraordinary results even in the most challenging of conditions.”

The Fuji FinePix Z800EXR has 12 megapixel; 5 times optical zoom and a 720p video mode.

Other features are the panorama mode, dynamic range in high-contrast scenes, or more sensitivity in low-light situations. It also chooses the best kind of autofocus depending on conditions: phase detection AF for contrasty scenes, or contrast AF in lower light.
