Great camera for someone that knows how to use one
The reviews I seen on here had me a little scared to buy this camera. I have had it for about 2 weeks and I personally think it is awesome. I am using manual mode more then the other modes and it works great for what I need :) Macro gives very crisp images. I went to a local parade and shot in manual mode and this camera did an excellent job! The video part of the camera does poorly in low lighting, but you must remember it is a camera, not a camcorder. I have a photo from the parade I shared. Also one of the macro shots I got. Don't let other reviews discourage you. With any photo you need to have an well lit area to get a great capture, and you have to hold the camera still or get a tripod. It will only allow me to upload 2 photos. If you would like to see more photos with the Pentax X90 you can go to my flickr. Http://www.flickr.com/misty666evil/ Some photos on there was taken with a different camera, so make sure to look the the top right corner to make sure it is the Pentax X90. I hope I have helped :)
Great, Feature Filled Camera
Overall, this is a great camera. I waited a very long time to buy a new camera, and this was worth the wait. I was torn between going with either a DSLR or a pocket model. In the end, I didn't want to mess with changing lenes, etc., but still wanted something that was full of features that I would appreciate and value. I do recommend reading through the operating manual to really gain an understanding of all of the features. In fact after reading through it, I am even more impressed by its features and capabilities. After my long search, I am very pleased that I choose this Pentax. I think Pentax hit a home run on this model.
ITS A GREAT CAMERA
GREAT CAMERA AND MIND BLOWING SPECS!!!!! I RECCOMEND THIS CAMERA TO ANY ONE SEARCHING FOR A GOOD CAMERA WITH GOOD PHOTO SHOOTING!
Sending this back
I was very excited about this camera until I took it out to do some wildlife photography. The shake reduction feature is pretty much non-existent, even with a tripod. It was a windy day and the camera did not perfom well. Also, I had trouble getting the zoom lens to go back into a normal position. It took way too long! I even tried turning the camera off then back on; when turned back on the zoom automatically went back to full zoom mode. The next BIG issue I have with this camera is I could not find the battery anywhere. I need an extra battery (I shoot a lot of pics). I searched locally and also on the internet. I finally contacted Pentax. They told me the battery is availlable in a very limited supply at this time, and that it could be months before it is readily available. I don't have months to wait for an extra battery. A car charger is not available, either. I am sending this one back.
