Canon Powershot SD4000

Canon dubs the PowerShot SD4000 as the company’s first compact camera that has a back-lit CMOS sensor. It is a compact camera that is able to take crips, clean nighttime photography and it has a fairly reasonable price.

It is fairly easy to think that most point and shoot cameras take night photos that are blurry. A canon camera such as the S90 tries to adapt to the need for better low light photos by incorporating bigger image sensors but the price tag or on the expensive side.

The Powershot SD4000 IS is a point-and –shoot camera that tries to be massed priced US$350, not cheap but affordable for people who are tired of bad low light pictures.

The Powershot SD4000 is edgy looking with asymmetrical, and its tapered edges that fit in anyone’s pocket easily.

The sensor of the pocket camera is amped up but the controls are fairly easy to use still. There are many scene modes including foliage, shooting plants, smart shutter mode, tilt-shift photography. There is of course the basic shutter and aperture mode.

The best feature of the SD4000 is of course its nightime shooting. The camera is reliable to low-noise shots and is the champion in nightime shooting among all point and shoot cameras. The ISO can pan out up to 800 and has manageable noise.

The upgraded sensor also makes for great night time video.

The Powershot SD4000 is also applauded for its high speed shooting. It is cable of snapping up to 8.4 frames per second in burst mode (though at a sub-cellphone 2.5 megapixels) and shooting 240fps video in Super Slow Motion video mode (albeit at a super crummy 320 x 240 resolution).

The Canon SD4000 is a great camera for party people or users who generally have an active nightlife.
