The Canon EOS 550D is a highly sophisticated camera that’s compact and has great value for its price.
At first glance, the Canon 550 looks like a lower model brother of the Canon 50D, the latter’s full metal jacket is replaced with a polycarbonate resin and glass fibre built.
The 550D also uses a pentamirror viewfinder, a down-market option to the 50D’s pentaprism design.
However don’t be fooled by the Canon 550D’s outwear because it’s packed with high performance.
The 550D has a high resolution, top of its class 18 megapixel CMOS sensor. It also incorporates an accurate iFCL, metering system simulate to the up-market EOS 7D which analyzes ficus settings and color information. It also calculates brightness in its 63-zone matrix.
Among its class the Canon 550D has a higher standard maximum sensitivity rating with up to ISO6400 settings.
The Canon 550D also has video feature and captures full 1080p at 24, 25 or 30 frames per second. This means that the quality of videos by 550D are broadcast quality. It comes with a microphone socket.
