You can make your own 3D movie with the Aiptek 3D HD Camcorder i2, a compact camcorder that allows the average Joe to create 3D movies.
The difference between the 2D and the 3D camcorder is that the latter is, understandably, more technical and there are more rules to follow. The 3D camcorder has 2 camera at 8cm apart. You can view your video on 3D effect without glasses and you can turn off the effect.
The 3D camcorder has 5 megapixels and shoots 720p in 2D, in MP4 format. The Aiptek camcorder uses an SD card slot.
The camera also comes with a HDMI output and a YouTube 3D software.
Reports from the Computex, in which the 3D camcorder was revealed, said that the quality of the video is not very convincing and the LCD viewer a bit dizzying. However 3D technology is just in the stages of inception and companies like Aiptek allow for the new technologies to be refined until it becomes the a great product, just take a look at the iPhone (an amalgamation of mobile phone refinement).
The Aiptek i2 will be released July 2010 for a mere US$199. Not bad for a camcorder that can channel the James Cameron in you.
