If you think you’re too old to become a photographer and do an exhibit well just look at lensman Raymond Cauchetier.

The French photographer Cauchetier launched his first commercial exhibition today. He also celebrates his 90th birthday this year.

In 1959 Cauchetier was the photographer commissioned by French New Wave director Jean-Luc Godard to document his iconic film A Bout de Souffle.

Cauchetier said ‘I remember the first day of shooting for A Bout de Souffle. Jean-Luc Godard in a café on the Champs-Elysées tried to explain to the actors his working methods.’

‘An absolutely terrified Jean Seberg (pictured above) wanted to leave the set immediately and go straight back to Iowa. She did not know that the role would bring her such international fame.’

Like Seberg, Cauchetier also didn’t know that 40 years later he would hold an exibith showcasing the famed French film among others.

Cauchetier, impressively is a self-taught photographer. He also became known in the industry for not just capturing stills but using photojournalism.

His images have helped document pieces of cinema history,
